Type Faces For Preliminary Task



This was the original font I had chosen but my teacher advised me not to go with this as it does not stand out that well and some people may have difficulties to read it.

I then looked at choosing this font as it was bold and would catch attention however I then decided that it would not be suitable for a 6^th form magazine as it looks sort of horrified.

I then looked at using a font like this which is clear and straight to the point, however I decided against using italics so I found another similar font.

This is the final font I have chosen. Its bold, eye catching and straight to the point.

Introduction To Preliminary Task

The task we were given for our preliminary task was to create a magazine front cover for 6^th formers. I hope to expand on my skills on Photoshop and discover good camera angles to use for my final magazine cover. The requirements were simple; the picture would have to be preferably a mid shot of someone in school which would appeal to 6^th formers. Moreover we had to include an introduction, a radio analysis, type face and steps we took to make our magazine cover.

 The idea I had instantly came to me was exam stress. My target audience will be 6^th formers who are stressed around exam times and need help with revising and completing their work. This is a key aspect of a 6^th formers life as they strife to get the best possible grade they can manage. I went about my idea to my teacher who agreed so I took a camera out and took a few pictures which I experimented with. I eventually choose the one I thought worked best and then put it onto Photoshop and started experimenting again until I had it just right. The idea of my magazine is to inform 6^th formers that there will be a sort of club if you like of students in year 13 who can give you tips and help you complete work and revise as best as you can.

 I like the project so far however I think we were limited as the magazine cover had to only be for 6^th formers, but as this is just for the start I believe the final work will be a lot more challenging and more enjoyable. If it was a real magazine I think it would be published as just a magazine for 6^th formers and possibly year 11 students. I hope to attract audiences by having an attracting looking magazine with bright colours which will attract eyes to it.
